I absolutely adore reading - my love for books has had a huge impact on my life! I'm going to grad school to be a children's/YA librarian.
Death Before Wicket by Kerry Greenwood. It's the 10th book in the Phrynie Fisher mystery series and I added the series to my to-read shelf after watching the pilot of the show on Netflix, which was actually a recommendation to me from a booklikes user (forget who though - sorry!). I have yet to actually start the book series, but I love what little I've seen of the tv show and definitely plan to continue watching after the wedding :)
4. What book do you plan to read next?
I need to re-read Anna Karenina - I'm hosting it for my book club next month. I also need to re-read Treasure Island, and I'll probably start that this week, if I have time. It was the pick for the Classics discussion group last month and I missed it because I was so busy!
I do, but I also make every effort to write an actual review for every book that I read. I don't feel that the stars fully reflect my reading experience, though they're great for simply giving readers a quick insight to my thoughts.
9. Do you have any favorite quotes? Would you like to share a few?
I have a few, but I'm HORRIBLE at remembering quotes. Here are some that I used for my Top 5 Wednesday quotes post:
"After all, tomorrow is another day!" from Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell
"We're all human, aren't we? Every human life is the same, and worth saving." - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling
“I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of any thing than of a book! -- When I have a house of my own, I shall be miserable if I have not an excellent library.” - Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
“Happiness is the consequence of personal effort. You fight for it, strive for it, insist upon it, and sometimes even travel around the world looking for it. You have to participate relentlessly in the manifestations of your own blessings. And once you have achieved a state of happiness, you must never become lax about maintaining it. You must make a mighty effort to keep swimming upward into that happiness forever, to stay afloat on top of it.” - Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert
“And so, with laughter and love, we lived happily ever after.” - Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine
10. Who are your favorite authors?
Philippa Gregory, J.K. Rowling, Sara Dessen, Margaret Mitchell... those are the ones who immediately come to mind.
11. Have you joined any groups?
Yep - the one that I'm most active in is the Classics discussion group.
